About Pune
Pune or Punyanagari
Pune has had many names. It was called Punavadi in medieval times, Poona (पूना) by the British. It also has several titles, Pune city is located in the western Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the cultural capital of Maharashtrians who native language is Marathi.
Marathi is the main language of Pune. However, given its cosmopolitian population, several other languages like English, Hindi and Gujrati are also used.

Bhakar Vadi (spicy crusty savoury) and Missal Pav (spicy mixture of onions, chilly and small savoury items, with bread) are some of the most delectable snacks. For those with a sweet tooth, Pune offers its Shrikhand (a burnt milk delicacy) and the seasonal Amras Puri (thick mango juice with fried 'puris') complete the traditional Maharashtrian feast

Khadakwasla is a moderate sized dam on the Mutha river, located about 20 kilometres southwest of the city of Pune. Khadakwasla is a favoured spot for couples, and many people come here on weekends and during the monsoon season. Scenic places around the dam include Peacock Bay, the Kudje village, and Neelkanteshwar, located near the Bahuli village just further past Kudje.
